CANADA

Women in Motorsport Canada (WIMCanada) is a member of the FIA with a driving goal to increase equality and participation in all areas of motorsport for girls and women in Canada and across the globe. 

 

We are invested in fostering new female talent in motorsport, and supporting the careers and futures of the women paving a path forward in all areas of the motorsport industry. Together we aim to bring the sport to a more equal, united place where everyone feels welcome to harness their potential.

MISSION

Women in Motorsport Canada strives to promote the participation of women in all areas of motorsport through events, education & training, advocacy, and mentorship.

 

Along the way, we aim to bust myths and stereotypes about women in motorsport, encouraging women to participate and showing them the pathway to succeed.

Founder/Director

LEANNE JUNNILA

Leanne is the founder of WIMCanada and is the Canadian representative for the FIA (Fédération International de l’automobile) Women in Motorsport Commission. She is a professional rally co-driver with over 20 years of experience!

Nathalie is a 10-time North American Rally Champion co-driver, tv host, and was recently inducted into the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Volunteer Coordinator

TRACY YOUNG

Tracy is the Volunteer Coordinator and Hospitality Manager for WIMCanada. She grew up around cars, starting her first job at an auto recycler. She volunteered as a pace car driver at the local race track and hosted drag races and car shows for her local car club for over 12 years while working at a VW store in Calgary. She rebuilt the engine of her 1961 VW Bug and currently owns 9 cars plus a motorcycle.

EMILY TROJAN

Emily is a current student at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology and started volunteering for WIMCanada in early 2023. She been responsible for branding, design and creating the website.

Marketing Manager

CHRISTOPHER VERESHAGIN

Chris is a recent graduate of the University of Calgary, with a Bachelor of Marketing and a minor in Sociology. He has been volunteering as the Marketing Manager of WIMCanada since January of 2023, developing and implementing marketing strategy, creating and delivering digital content, while managing WIMCanada's website and social media presence.
